– The Country Montessori Team

Ms. Laura

I’m Laura.  I am the owner and director of Country Montessori and have been since April 2020 when my husband and I convinced the previous owner to sell it to us.

I was born and raised in Douglas, Massachusetts. I graduated from Douglas Public Schools before moving on to study Early Education at Worcester State University where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree (Early Education and English) and MA teaching license. After working in seven different public school districts with a variety of grade levels and developmental levels, I realized that Public School was not for me.

My nephew attended a Montessori school and his knowledge and development amazed me. I wanted to learn more about the Montessori methods of teaching. After doing some self-directed research on Montessori, and finding out that I already taught using this approach, I decided to shift my career. With my husband’s support, we purchased Country Montessori.

Since 2020, I have enrolled in several Montessori courses, obtained a Montessori certification for ages 3-6, attended the AMS conference in Boston with Montessori Guides from all over the world and am currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Education with a focus on Montessori.

My husband and I continue to reside in Douglas, MA with our two teenage daughters, Riana and Sofia. During my time off, I enjoy spending it with family, going to the beach, traveling and learning. My life-long goal is to make each day better than the last by educating myself and learning from my mistakes.

Ms. Natalie

Hi! I’m Natalie. I got my first teaching job here at Country Montessori in 2019, where I’ve been able to learn and grow as an educator and learn all about Montessori.

I am lead teacher certified and have completed my certification from the North American Montessori Center. I love teaching with the Montessori method because of the ability it gives me to nurture the child’s natural love of learning, and to teach each child based on their unique interests and capabilities.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time doing yoga and art!

Ms. Holly

Hello, I’m Holly, the elementary (k-4) teacher at Country Montessori. I have been teaching here at Country Montessori for 6 years.

I grew up locally in Uxbridge and studied graphic design at Blackstone Valley Tech before moving to Maine to study education. I graduated from the University of Maine in 2017 with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and attained my MA teaching license. Since then I have completed my elementary Montessori training and continue to educate myself, learning more about Montessori, child development, and teaching.

I live in Douglas with my husband and two aussies, Ruby and Olive. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and camping with my dogs, reading, and being a plant mom. I am also a yogi and enjoy sharing yoga and guided meditation with my students to practice mindfulness, improve focus, and reduce stress.

I love spending time with the children in my class. I have a gentle approach with my students and believe in creating a safe and nurturing environment; building connections and learning alongside them so they can thrive.

Ms. Lisa

I have been teaching since 2005 and have been with Country Montessori since 2016.

I received my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Massachusetts and I am currently earning my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Fitchburg State University. I have also completed my Montessori training with the North American Montessori Center.

I believe that all children have a natural desire to learn and it is my privilege as a Montessori Guide to provide them with an environment where they are free to explore and experiment.

When I am not at school or studying, I enjoy spending my free time with my daughter exploring the coast of Maine.

Ms. Meagan

Hi there, Ms. Meagan here! I joined Country Montessori in December 2022 as an aide and am thrilled to continue as a teacher in the Butterfly classroom! This is my first teaching opportunity and my goal is to continue my knowledge in the Montessori setting and childcare. I truly enjoy working with children and have two young girls of my own. I am also a Girl Scout Leader, member of the Douglas PTO and avid volunteer for school events.

I graduated from Sutton High School and immediately started my career in banking, where I continued for 17 years before staying home with my girls. Outside of teaching I enjoy reading, crocheting, and archery.

I truly enjoy the relationships I’ve built and am excited to see what the future brings!

Ms. Emma

Hello! My name is Ms. Emma.

I started my career in childcare back in 2016 when I became a nanny. I was devoted to coming up with fun and educational activities to fill our days, which fueled my want to be in a classroom more and more.

After a few years of furthering my career at a previous preschool, becoming teacher certified in 2020, I finally made my way to Country Montessori in the fall of 2022. I have loved getting to know each and every student and their families, feel so supported by the staff, and have felt more than welcomed into this new roll at the Montessori school, and look forward to the future here.

I live in the area with my wife, son, and our two cats, who are very much our fur babies. Hiking, spending time with friends, and photography are some things I enjoy.

Ms. Sue

I am Ms. Sue. I began my career at Country Montessori as a teacher’s assistant many years ago, when my own children attended preschool here. I quickly realized that this was the place for me and have been here ever since.

I have spent time as an assistant in each of the preschool classrooms throughout the years and enjoy learning new teaching techniques and curriculum. I spent last year as an aide in the elementary classroom. I enjoyed being able to connect and work with each student. I recently became teacher certified.

I was born and raised in Worcester, but currently reside in Millbury. I have two grown children; one daughter and one son. I love animals, especially cats and dogs. Outside of work, I enjoy many hobbies including jewelry making, knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, baking and spending time with my family.
