Director’s Message

Country Montessori was founded by Lucy Lukason, in 1986, to offer parents a high-quality preschool and kindergarten for their children. In April 2020, my husband and I purchased the school from Lucy. As a young child, there were two things I aspired to be: a mother and a teacher. I am a mother of two young girls and have been a teacher in many capacities over the years: preschool, 1st grade, 2nd grade and special education through fourth grade.

My career opportunities have allowed me to teach in a variety of school districts, each giving me a new perspective on education and a vast array of knowledge to prepare me for this new role. My experiences in public school have also taught me that I do not fit into the mold shaped by the state of Massachusetts for public school educators.

I believe children learn and grow at their own pace and in their own way and that standardized testing isn’t the “end-all-be-all.” “One-size-fits-all” doesn’t apply to education. Understanding that students need strong foundational skills to build upon in order to be successful, in my belief, is the most important piece of my educational philosophy. Therefore, providing your child/children with these skills and preparing them for whatever educational journey they may embark on is my ultimate goal.

Feeling comfortable and confident in the educators who are teaching your child on a daily basis allows you peace of mind. While my credentials, and teaching experiences are strong and most fit for the director position, it is my passion, ambition, love of learning and genuine interest in the success of each child that will make Country Montessori an exceptional experience for your family.
